The computer program is designed to help participants develop a strong foundation in computer and media literacy. Computers play an important role in everyday life in the twenty-first century. From photos to music and banking to communication, computers have rapidly changed the way we work and live our lives. At Women In Charge, we focus on typing skills, basic operations. as well as internet use and constructing cover letters and resumes. The computer lab allows each woman to independently move at her own pace to enhance their understanding of computer operations. They create their own e-mail accounts and learn how to safely search and apply for jobs over the internet. The women leave feeling more comfortable with the use of computers and are able to apply their skills to everyday life.
